getting ahead of pain

posture

Posture is a major component we examine and can contribute to neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain and even headaches.

“Bad” posture is often acquired over the course of years.  Without Mom “encouraging” us to sit up straight, muscles that help support us in the back weaken as muscle in the front tighten, creating a forward head and rounded shoulder alignment. The mechanics of the surrounding joints will change, stressing certain areas and creating pain.  Posture can change and alter many different ways but many times, it’s very addressable with a little time and effort.

Posture Playing a Role

Postural assessment is a mainstay in most injuries we treat. Changes to your postural alignment can have cascading effects down to your feet!  We’ll identify these changes and work to correct them. We’ll also inquire about your work setup at home and at the office, advising on ergonomic changes that could assist in finding you relief

It’s never to late to improve postural alignment!  While degenerative changes and years of poor posture may seem hard to overcome, just a little bit of improvement can go a very long way in terms of pain relief.
